League Fixtures

So, the fixtures came out this morning and Leicester are actually playing Plymouth on a Saturday, which means that Sky will probably move it to a Monday for live coverage. The first away game is Ipswich on 15th August and then the might that was Newcastle two weeks alter - that's if they have any players left.

Blackpool is again in February and he last away game id Preston on24th April, except the play-offs, obviously.

I wonder what the millionaires in Canon League Division One are up to....

Carling Cup Draw

Leicester have been drawn away to Macclesfield in the first round of the Carling Cup. That's somewhere in Cheshire as I recall, which probably rules out a visit for a midweek game.

£80 million

If Cristiano Ronaldo is worth £80million that means that Kaka is only a third as good as he is at £56million.

Therefore if you rate them out of ten every time Kaka gets a six Ronaldo must get an eight. I think you can see where I'm going with this.....

Where I'm Going

So now I'm looking forward to next season and hoping there will be opportunities for more trips. I guess I'm getting the Foxes bug, a bit late in life but these things happen. Leicester have already announced some friendlies for next season and there is already a plan to go to Shrewsbury. It's a place I've never been and having read a fair bit of Ellis Peters and heard reports from people who've been there it's been on an imaginary list I have of places to go for some time. That's places in England, as opposed to San Francisco, Barcelona, Florence (again), New York (again) etc.

There's a few grounds I wouldn't mind visiting next season, although Plymouth on a Tuesday isn't likely to happen. There are five grounds I have been to, although when I went to The City Ground it was to see an Under 21s match so I'm not sure if that counts.

I went to QPR many years ago when I was living in London. Alan, my brother-in-law is a season ticket holder at Fulham and when I lived in London during the 1979/80 season I saw a few games at Craven Cottage and took in a couple of away games. This was the season Fulham got relegated to Canon League Division Three with Tony Gale, Gerry Peyton and Gordon Davies.

The fixtures are released on Wednesday 17th June in the morning and this year I will be checking them out as soon as they are released. Last night I realised that I have no idea when the Premiership fixtures come out so maybe I am drifting away from the countries so called elite.
